microwaved asparagus

Microwaving asparagus is my least favourite way of cooking asparagus. They just don’t turn out right. On the other hand it very easy and fast so in a pinch it works. I do recommend you check out some other ways of cooking asparagus here.

Ingredients

  • Asparagus
  • Water

Method

Clean the asparagus and cut of the dry and fibrous ends but leave the tips intact.

Place the spears in a circle on a plate with the tips pointing inwards.

Add 1/4 cup of water and cover with another plate turned upside down to form a lid.

Put the plate in the microwave and cook them for two minutes on high power.

Take out the plate and test the asparagus with a fork. They should be tender and crisp.

If they aren’t done cook them an extra minutes and test them again.

Continue this until the asparagus are done.
