If you like Greek food I am sure you will love this variation of the classic moussaka. It tastes really good and is easy to make.

Ingredients
Meat sauce:
500g minced beef, veal & pork or chicken
1 large chopped onion
2 carrots, diced
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 large tomatoes, diced
1 Tbsp. oregano
1 tsp. allspice
salt and pepper.
oil for frying.

Layers:
1 squash cut into ½ cm thin slices
5 potatoes cut into very thin slices
a little olive oil

Yoghurtlag:
400g Greek yoghurt
3 eggs
½ tsp. nutmeg
salt & pepper
100g grated cheese.

Preparation Method
Fry the chopped onion and the meat, and don’t forget to stir well, so the meat is not cooked into large clumps. Add carrots, garlic and tomatoes and spices. Let it cook for 5 minutes.

Spread half of meat in a greased ovenproof dish. Spread the potato slices on the meat sauce and sprinkle with salt & pepper. Then place another layer of the meat on top. Then put the squash slices on meat and drizzle a little olive oil on the slices and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Put the moussaka in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes.
While the moussaka is in the oven, mix together the yogurt, eggs, ground nutmeg and salt and pepper. After the 20 minutes put the yogurt mixture over the moussaka  and finally sprinkle the cheese over it end. Then put the moussaka back into the oven for another 20 minutes or until it is golden.

Serve it with salad and baked squash slices.
